Plants in a Taiga

Picture
Plants in Taigas have needles to keep them warm. Needles are like leaves they make the food. Needles store the food so when summer comes they can refill. The needles are waxy from the outside this helps the tree keep water for winter. These trees can survive those weathers for example Firs are able to survive the weather.

Most Taiga trees are conifers. Conifers are plants that make cones in late winter. When the cones become fertalized they grow bigger. Once the seeds get ripe. The cone dries and all the seeds fall. It takes 2 years for this to happen.

In Taigas there isn't much diversity because not all plants can survive such cold weather. There are a few leaf trees that are common Birch, Poplar, and  Aspen These trees lose all their leaves during fall. These trees need to save energy during the winter and save sum for making new leaves.
